Morning believe that every bean and blend deserves to be enjoyed in the best way possible and they have built a capsule machine to raise the home coffee experience. Their goal is to draw out nuances of each brew delivering an improved experience for those who prefer the convenience of capsule coffee.

What is unique to this machine is the ability to control temperature and flow profile/pressure in a way not possible with any other capsule machine.

We have been sceptical of capsule machines to this point, but we believe that the Morning Machine offers the best possible capsule experience. We have added a 100% compostable Nespresso compatible capsule based on our everyday blend for this machine to raise the bar for capsule coffee at home or in your workplace.

• Morning combines all the processes a barista would use when dialling in coffee, so that you can brew to a recipe exactly as the roaster intended.
• We can set an optimum pressure profile and temperature for our capsules and you can easily replicate this in your home.
• You can also design your own profiles to suit your palate.

Temperature Settings

• Manipulating the temperature has an influence in the flavours you taste in the cup as it affects the different compounds in coffee. Coffee literature says that lower temperatures produce a cup with more acidity, lower in body, bitterness and sweetness. Whereas higher temperature produces a cup with higher body, bitterness and sweetness.
• What this all means, is that temperature can alter the taste balance and the aroma of the coffee from the Morning machine. You have full control.

Pressure/flow Profile

• A first for coffee capsule brewing! As this is uncharted territory, we are learning more each day on how pressure affects coffee capsule brewing. The Morning Machine comes with traditional espresso pressure profiles, which you can try with your favourite capsules. It’s amazing to taste the flavour nuances change from one profile to another.
• With the Morning Machine, you can pre-infuse or ‘bloom’ the coffee inside the capsule, resulting in a better shot. The possibilities are endless.

Environmentally friendly

• Use our compostable Nespresso compatible capsules or capsules which can be recycled and you’ll be producing your coffee in an environmentally friendly way.
  Please note that the Morning coffee machine is not compatible with refillable metal capsules. Failures due to the use of refillable metal capsules will not be covered by warranty.

Coffee Output

• A shorter cup, or lower output (weight) will result in more body, while a longer cup with higher weight output, will produce a cup that’s milder in mouthfeel and flavours. Morning have shared that capsule coffee brewing throws away the rules and ratios that we have developed from traditional espresso brewing.
• A longer coffee is produced over fresh water rather than over extracting by running more water through the capsule.
• With the Morning Machine, you are now able to control the output for each coffee, based on your preference and achieve that experience consistently with the inbuilt scale.

Our take:

A capsule machine will never deliver the same coffee body that an espresso machine can as our capsules only contain 5.5g of finely ground coffee. The Morning Machine removes many of the limitations of capsules. Milk drinkers may choose to use 2 or more capsules to improve the body in the cup.
