São Pedro Farm is located in Alto São Pedro township, situated 22 km away from the center of Afonso Cláudio municipality. It showcases the climatic and altitude conditions under which the specialty coffees of the Espírito Santo Mountains are cultivated.
The Arabica plantations consist of the Catucaí 2SL and Catucaí 785 varieties, positioned at elevations ranging between 1,050 and 1,100 meters above sea level. The area experiences winter temperatures ranging from 12oC to 13oC during the day and 5oC to 8oC at dawn.
The grower, Victor Barreiro Endlich, manages his time between motorcycle mechanics and coffee production. The support of his father, Gilmar Endlich, plays a vital role in the success of their endeavor, which began with their German family in 1999.
The bond within the producer's family grew stronger after the tragic loss of Victor's only brother in a car accident in 2002. The patriarch still becomes emotional when reflecting upon the tragedy. However, coffee farming has given them a fresh start in life. The farm encompasses 22.5 hectares, with approximately 6 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of around 30,000 coffee trees.
In 2015, 90% of the plantation underwent renewal, with the Catucaí 2SL and Catucaí 785 varieties being prioritized due to their productivity, ease of management, and adaptability to the region's altitude. According to the coffee grower, this advice was provided by an experienced and successful producer from the municipality of Marechal Floriano.
